 The pleasure of many photographs often comes from their composition. Most of the time our visual field is a jumble of randomness. A pleasing composition provides relief from the daily chaos and suggests there is natural order to all this stuff.

 A traditional Euclidean perspective separates the three dimensions of space from a single constant of time. With long exposures, the camera condenses a stretch of time into a single moment. A snapshot into spacetime.
Good aurora activity. -27º. Partly cloudy. No wind.
 The sun makes a brief visit in the middle of the day. Each day has a subtle shift in light as the sun edges its way higher above the horizon.
Periodic aurora activity. -14º. Mostly cloudy.. Light wind.  Traditionally the Christmas lights are switched off and packed away today. The northern lights, however, will continue until April.
Periodic aurora activity. -32º. Partly cloudy. No wind.  The lights are shining bright for the last day of Christmas.
