 Cranberries in the swamp. It's the season for one of our favourite berries. Perfect in gin and tonics. The cranberries that we pick are included in our Wild Food Cooking Workshops and also an ingredient in our Welcome Meal for our Aurora Escape.
Moderate aurora activity. 4°. Clouds.  The Finnish translation for aurora is 'fox fire'. I wonder if this is the fox from the legend? #taxidermy Join Arctic Frontier for our Aurora Chase™ and you too can photograph our magical fox or perhaps some real fox fires too!
Low aurora activity. 8°. 'Warm' and partly cloudy.  Chasing the aurora last night on our Aurora Chase™ - we chased the gaps in the clouds to find the Northern Lights and we had 'double the luck' with the auroras reflected in the icy lakes and rivers.

High aurora activity. 7°. Warmer & clear skies.  What's this? Curling in the swamps? .... or foraging for cranberries under the snow. It's possible to pick berries even when there is snow! We provide the brooms and come and join us on a Forage, Fire & Feast adventure.
High aurora activity. -4°. Clear skies. Front row seats for last night's aurora. Two videos from last nights' aurora show! These were taken last night on the shores of our Aurora Escape cottage. An amazing location to spend two or three nights enjoying our Arctic skies.

Good aurora conditions. -5°. Snow still on the ground and clear skies forecast!  Is it winter? Is it autumn? Perhaps it's winter and autumn at the same time. Taken on the main street of Kittilä, the village south of Levi. We're finding some beauty in the 'burbs of Lapland!
