 One of our favourite spots for viewing the aurora. Amazing views in summer as well.
White night period. 22°. So warm!  A little bit of summer. +25°. Even in the Arctic. No need to take any vitamin D supplements for the next few days!
White night period. 25°. Sun, warmth & warm(wish) water.  The sun is now dipping below the horizon creating some fantastic sunsets and beautiful golden evening light. In one month we will be getting our first visible auroras.
White night period. 20°. Sunny and warm, yes it does happen up here!  Mountain Ash flowers make a refreshing summer cordial - tasting like a blend of honey and almonds. Also known as Rowan trees, these are often the tree of choice in gardens up here.
White night period. 16°. Sunny, partly cloudy.  The Arctic summer is rich in colour. Dandelions have many medicinal benefits. The petals are also used to make wine and digestive teas. Due to the slow start to summer up here, the dandelions flowered on mass, creating a golden spectacle.
White night period. 19°. It's warming up!  Summertime is saunatime. New birch leaves are used to make 'whisks' for an authentic Finnish sauna experience. When you heat up the leaves in the sauna and then use them to 'beat' yourself or your sauna companion, it releases scented oils which heal the body and soul.
White night period. 11°. Partly cloudy, light rain.  One of the first mushrooms of the season to appear is the False Morel. Highly toxic. But still eaten in Finland. Special treatment is required to remove the toxins.
