 Milk caps rising up from the reindeer lichen. Mushroom season is well and truly under way. And yes, this is real - we haven't moved the mushrooms or created some photoshop magic!
Medium aurora activity. 15°. Sunny & partly cloudy.  The aurora season is underway. Autumn is one of the best viewing times. Auroras and clear skies are forecast for tomorrow!
Medium aurora activity. 8°. Cloudy & raining today.  That's not a mushroom, this is a mushroom. The mighty bolete has arrived. These mushrooms are delicious dried - our dehydrator has been on all night!

Officially it is still 'white night period', but we have a small period of darkness now. 8°. Cool and raining.  The Northern Lights are coming. The nights are slowly getting darker allowing the aurora to shine through. Taken last night on the shores of our favourite lake.
Mild aurora activity. 9°. Partly cloudy.  Dried nettle seeds are a great addition to cream cheese, with a little lemon rind. Serve as a spread with your favourite bread. The seeds taste like an earthy spinach and have a texture of chia seeds, but without the 'slime'. We'll keep experimenting with this tasty wild food!
Almost dark at night! 10°. Rainy.  We enjoy the cleanest air and water in Europe. Photographing in Pallas-Yllästunturi National Park.
White night period. 14°. Raining.  More free food from the forest. Harvesting seeds from nettles. One full basket will provide us with one and a half litres of seeds. We've been experimenting with new recipes to include this super food!
